The Field Evidence
Across the Ohio River at Maysville, a road cut exposes trilobites, cephalopods, and crinoids — a graveyard of marine life. Inside Mammoth Cave, the world's largest cave system, horn coral and over 70 varieties of shark line walls carved from flood-deposited marine limestone.
